With many things to learn, the beginner may find trusting intuition in a yoga practice overwhelming. For those with more experience, leaving behind things that were previously learned, to escape occasional “ruts” that eventually show up with repetitive styles of yoga can be equally disturbing. In this unique class, light-handed guidance will include a few basic principles of practice in a way that unleashes the insight of yoga for the beginner, and refreshes the intuitive for the more accomplished. The instruction will draw from classical hatha yoga, martial arts, and South Indian dance. This class will focus on cultivating “beginner’s mind” in both the simple and more challenging aspects of yoga with suggestions for developing a truly personal practice, no matter the style. The class will be 1 part lecture, 3 parts practice.
